Children experience first hand life and learning in a 1 room classroom and / or the early rural village life of days long gone.

A collection of over 24 restored buildings and structures dating from the 1840s to early 1900's, nestled in a unique rural village setting amidst the rolling Hawthorne hills. This 7.5 acre village area is bordered to the east and south by Hawthorne Hills County Park, County Highway I to the west, and private land to the north.
Parking & Events
There is a roadway that takes you to the parking lot, where you can park and enter the gravel trails that traverse the entire extent of the village. There is a visitors center that is open most weekends during the summer.
Special educational school tours and special events are held at Pioneer Villagethroughout the summer and fall. The Ozaukee County Historical Society has developed and maintained this unique historical experience for over 45 years. For more information call 262-377-8432.
Visiting Ozaukee County Pioneer Village is like experiencing history. The village has been maintained by the Ozaukee County Historical Society since the organization’s inception in 1960. No other place in the County offers you the opportunity to experience a living history museum. The site encompasses over 24 restored buildings and structures scattered throughout the park from pioneer living, all waiting to be explored.
