Pioneer Village - Facilities

A collection of over 24 restored buildings and structures dating from the 1840's to early 1900's, nestled in a unique rural village setting amidst the rolling hawthorne hills.  This 7.5 acre village area is bordered to the east and south by Hawthorne Hills County Park; County Highway I to the west; and private land to the north.

There is a roadway that takes you to the parking lot, where you can park and enter the gravel trails that traverse the entire extent of the Village.  There is a visitors center that is open most weekends during the summer.  Special educational school tours and special events are held at Pioneer Village throughout the summer and fall, including a Revolutionary War encampment and re-enactments.  The Ozaukee County Historical Society has developed and maintained this unique historical experience for over 45 years.
