Ozaukee County Pioneer Village is offering "Free Admission Days" this weekend June 19 and June 20 from Noon to 5 pm each day.  Costumed setters will be doing demonstrations on... Blacksmithing, Weaving, Quilting, Pioneer Wash Days, Baking in an Outdoor Oven, Butter Churning, knitting, Spinning, Antique Tools and more!  There will be an old fashioned Ice Cream Social in the Antique Wagon Barn.  Tour the 20 restored and authentically furnished homes, barns and outbuildings.

The event is sponsored by the Ozaukee County Historical Society - Ozaukee County Pioneer Village is located at 4880 County Hwy I in Saukville. 

The Open House at Ozaukee County Pioneer Village at 4880 Hwy. I, Saukville, is an opportunity to showcase Ozaukee County’s premier out-door living history museum.

This event is modeled after the Handwerker Shau which was "The Signature Event" of earlier years.

Visitors will step back in time to experience rural life in 19^th century Wisconsin as they tour restored historic buildings and authentically furnished houses, barns, and outbuildings.

This year’s featured attractions include:

-costumed interpreters to explain & answer questions

-a working blacksmith, printer with apprentice, and a carpentr

-wood cutting with a crosscut saw

-butter churning

-baking in the outdoor beehive oven

-beekeeping, a historical perspective

-spinning, weaving, quilting, knitting, corn husk mattress making

-rug hooking and basket making demonstrations

-OCHS’s raffle quilt display

-children sampling 19^th century work and play and "Coming to Lessons" in a one-room school in a fun and educational way

-gift shop browsing

_An old fashioned ice cream social will top off a day of wonderful experiences.
