| The Washington
House was constructed at Cedarburg’s main
intersection in 1886. The building has been put
to numerous and various uses over the years. At
the time of the photo, the Guse Drug Store, the
Cedarburg Building & Loan Association and
Doctors O.J. and O.W. Hurth occupied the first
floor. The Sieben Insurance Agency, Vera’s
Beauty Shop and two or three apartments occupied
the second floor. The Masonic Lodge was located
on the third floor. The structure has since been
restored to its original appearance and now
serves as a bed and breakfast called the
Washington House Inn. |
