Hickmann's National Foods, and
Lumpe Electric
Click photo above to enlarge
The two commercial buildings just north of the
Washington House have accommodated a number of
tenants. At this point in time, Hickmann’s
Variety Store occupied what had been Jochem’s
Grocery Store and later became the Ben Franklin
Store. The Chocolate Factory now occupies the
lower level of this building. The National Food
Store later became the Guse Drug Store. Note
that each of the stores had an awning for
protection from the sun. |
