Straight ahead on the Fourth of July

Today, Fourth of July parades turn at Columbia Road to proceed to the City Park, but they used to continue to Spring Street and across Hilbert Street to get there.  When this parade passed by, Gerrit's Drug Store, now Cedarburg Woolen Mill and Shops, was still in operation.  The Cedarburg State Bank still occupied the building now housing the Koehler Insurance Agency.  There were no traffic lights and parking was permitted in front of the Washington House building and in front of the Gerrit's building.
