Festival of Music Parade

The Fire Department's annual Festival of Music started in 1948 and brought numerous outstanding bands and drum and bugle corps to the gigantic parades held each June for 37 years.  The last parade was held in 1985 in conjunction with the celebration of the Centennial of the City of Cedarburg.  Tri-Par was at their new (present) location and sold gasoline for $.299 per gallon.  The Benning Funeral Home was located across Washington Avenue.  It was later removed to provide additional parking space for Immanuel Luther Church.  This building had been a funeral home for at least 30 years.  Davies Food Shop at the left was one of the many small downtown grocery stores that were popular at the time
