A VIEW FROM
THE TOP
Click photo above to enlarge
This view from the tower of the old
firehouse shows the heart of downtown Cedarburg and a few
new additions to the west. The Hacker School, on St.
John Avenue just behind Turner Hall, was built in 1950 and
was later converted to an apartment building. The new
high school had already been built on Evergreen Boulevard,
but the addition to this school was not yet in place. The
First Immanuel School had been built, but the gymnasium
addition had not been constructed. Webster Transitional
School and Lasata had not yet been built, and most of the
area west of Evergreen Boulevard had not been developed. |
