Ozaukee County's Senior Nutrition Program began in 1978. Today the program provides nourishing meals, companionship and connections to services that promote independent living. The program goals are to promote a healthy lifestyle through
good nutrition and to expand social opportunities. Hot nutritious meals are provided for people 60 years or older and their spouse, regardless of age. Meals are planned by a registered dietitian and follow the U.S. Department of
Agriculture's recommendations. Each meal provides 1/3 of the U. S. Recommended Daily Allowances for adults.

Nutrition Program Funding
The Nutrition Program is funded by Title III of the Older Americans Act , State and County tax dollars, and your donation. The OAA guidelines give diners an opportunity to share in the cost of their meal. Currently the suggested
donation at our dining centers for persons 60 years and older is $3.50 per meal. Those who can afford to contribute more should do so and those who cannot afford the suggested donation, should give only what they can afford. No one is
denied service if he or she is unable to contribute.
