  Parcel Numbering System
This county uses a 12 character numeric number for its parcel identification number (also known as pin number, ID number, tax key number). There are 4 types of edits used to delineate the parcel identification numbers (PIN) into a easier readable format. Below is the explanation of the PIN in relation to the five types of edits.
The first edit delineates platted lands with blocks and lots which looks like the following:
MM-SSS-BB-LL-PPP MM-SSS-BB-LL-PPP MM-SSS-BB-LL-PPP MM-SSS-BB-LL-PPP MM-SSS-BB-LL-PPP
MM is the municipal number which ranges
from 1 to 19 as follows

SSS is the subdivision or condominium number ranging from 40 up and are assigned chronologically. A list can be generated for the whole county listing all the subdivisions and the corresponding numbers for each municipality. BB is the block number or building number of the corresponding subdivision. LL is the lot number of the corresponding block. PPP is the sub lot number assigned as lots are split apart, or designates a outlot.
The next type of edit delineates platted lands with no block which looks as follows:
MM-SSS-LLLL.PPP MM-SSS-LLLL.PPP MM-SSS-LLLL.PPP MM-SSS-LLLL.PPP
MM is once again the municipal number.
(see above)
SSS is once again the subdivision or condominium number. LLLL is the lot number or the unit number of the corresponding subdivision or condominium. PPP is the sub lot or unit number.
The next type of edit delineates only condominiums which were designated by unit numbers greater than 9999 which correspond to address of the units which for now are only in Mequon.
MM-SSS-BB-UUUUU MM-SSS-BB-UUUUU MM-SSS-BB-UUUUU MM-SSS-BB-UUUUU
MM is once again the municipal number.
(see above)
SSS is once again the subdivision or condominium number. BB is the building number of the corresponding condominium. UUUUU is the unit number.
The last edit delineates unplatted lands which looks as follows
MM-SSS-QQ-PPP-pp MM-SSS-QQ-PPP-pp MM-SSS-QQ-PPP-pp MM-SSS-QQ-PPP-pp MM-SSS-QQ-PPP-pp
MM is once again the municipal number.
(see above)
SSS is the section number ranging from 001 to 036. QQ is the quarter/quarter number ranging from 01 to 16 using the system shown below PPP is the parcel number which is assigned as the parcels are created in each quarter/quarter. pp is the sub parcel number used primarily when an outlot is associated with a parcel or to designate municipal properties in a given quarter/quarter.
