Hawthorne Hills Park is located at 4880
HWY I. Entrance to the park is
north of Hawthorne Hills Golf Course and
is shared with
Pioneer Village and
H.H.Peters Youth Camp. The park is
open to the public year round,
with daily hours from 6:00 AM to 9:00
PM. The 57.1 acre
park area is mostly undeveloped woodland
that is sandwiched between Pioneer
Village to the north; Herbert H. Peters
Youth Camp to the east; and Hawthorne
Hills Golf Course to the south.

There
is a roadway that takes you to the
center of the park, where you can park
and enter the hiking trails that
traverse the east end of the property.
Dogs and cats are allowed only if they
are cleaned up after. The east side of
the park has access to the Milwaukee
River where you can enjoy the view or
fish. There are no amenities at
this park other than a few grills and
picnic tables. Fires are allowed
only in the grills provided.
On
the south side of the park, across from
the asphalt roadway, there is a pond
that is also open to fishing. This pond
does not allow boating due to its
proximity to the golf course, and entry
to the course grounds are strictly
PROHIBITED. Due to the minimal
development and mature forest canopy,
bird watching can be very rewarding, one
may even catch a glimpse of an osprey or
bald eagle that travels the river
corridor.
