Tendick family got together along with Park Commission members to dedicate the new Tendick Park Shelter August 13, 2005. Rosemary Tendick cut the ribbon.  (Click Photo to see more).
Trace Tendick, Grandson of Donald Tendick, accepts a Wisconsin Stewardship Grant from Governor Jim Doyle for $100,000. The grant funds will help pay for Phase III of Tendick Park. (Click Photo to see more)

"A LITTLE HISTORY"

Donald Tendick, Sr., donated 142 acres of woods and farmland to Ozaukee County in 1999, with the request of developing a park for all to enjoy. Mr. Tendick passed away May 11, 2000. Continued work with his family and the community, his gift will become Ozaukee County’s "Tendick Nature Park". A special gift awaiting to become a memorable part of our lives.

Tendick Park will offer our community and guest an array of activity.

Recreational features will be:

  • Archery Target Area
  • Disc Golf course
  • River Canoe Access Area
  • Nature Study Area & Trails
  • Forestry Planting
  • Multi-use Trails
  • Winter Coasting Area
  • Pond Skating
  • Park Service Area
  • Off road parking areas
  • Tendick Park has a new quarter-mile-long boardwalk through wetlands and a canoe launch on the Milwaukee River, served by a road and parking lot. and will have a shelter building, game fields, as well as family and group picnic areas.     Currently many people are using this park for walks, disc golf and weddings. Area High Schools use Tendick for their cross-country meets. Tendick Park is not far from Hawthorne Hills golf course making its location accessible for all kinds of activity.
