Weather Events Affecting Ozaukee County: August 22, 1964 An F4 tornado struck Port Washington (Ozaukee County). Path length was 2mi, path width 50yds. 30 people were injured. $2.5M in property damage was reported. June 14, 1991 Severe thunderstorms dropped hail up to 2.75" in diameter in Fond du Lac County, and up to 2.0" in Ozaukee County. January 27, 1996 Melting snow and light rain caused minor lowland flooding in Ozaukee County. The Milwaukee River at Cedarburg crested 0.12 feet above flood stage. February 27, 1996 Melting snow and light rain caused minor lowland flooding in Ozaukee County. The Milwaukee River at Cedarburg crested 0.12 feet above flood stage. July 18, 1996 An F1 tornado touched down NW of Fredonia (Ozaukee Co), and destroyed or damaged 6 homes, 5 barns and 6 machine sheds, and 2 garages. May 13, 1998 Lightning struck an apartment building in Sussex (Washington Co.) and started a damaging fire. Lightning also damaged a steeple in Port Washington (Ozaukee Co.). May 17, 2000 Training thunderstorm echoes led to flash flooding. Watertown (Jefferson Co.) had 2.52" of rain in 1.5 hours, Grafton (Ozaukee Co.) had 1.75" in one hour. October 11, 2002 Dense fog across Sheboygan and Ozaukee Co reduced visibilities to 0 to1/4 SM. 50 auto accidents were reported. 11 were killed, 41 injured. December 16, 2003 Red, clay based dirt was deposited by rain on vehicles in Milwaukee, Ozaukee, and Waukesha Counties. The dirt originated from WC Texas and E New Mexico.
