2007 Annual Report for Emergency Management department now posted - 12/13/2007


  • The coldest temperature in the winter of 2006-07 was -35 at Gurney (Iron Co.) on February 6 and 7, 2007.  
  • Upson (Iron Co.) had the most snow with 175.8 inches, while Menomonie (Dunn Co.) had the least with 29.0 inches.
  • Wisconsin’s all-time lowest temperature is -55 F on Feb. 2 & 4, 1996 near Couderay (Sawyer Co.).  Readings of -30 F or colder have been recorded in every month from November through April.  
  • Average annual snowfall ranges from 35 to 40 inches near the Illinois border to 150 to 165 inches in the Iron County snow-belt from Gurney to Hurley.
