The following is a listing of cases investigated by this office in 2007. The breakdown of the caseload should be self-explanatory. Accidents 4 Cremations 226 Disinterments 2 Donations 6 Motor Vehicle Accidents 9 Natural 299 Pending 1 Suicides 7 Undetermined 1 There were 695 deaths in Ozaukee County. Deaths of Ozaukee County residents totaled 830. This office investigated 296 deaths. Twenty-seven autopsies were performed. Monies collected for issuing cremation permits, signing death certificates, providing copies of reports, and using the morgue for body storage and tissue/bone harvesting totaled $33,735. There are four deputies who help with this work: Timm Deppisch, EMT, Chief Deputy Carol Barthel, EMT Chris Doers, EMT,RN Maribeth Barbuch, EMT I will gladly furnish any other information about this office and its budget requirements as needed.
