Public/Private Partnership Opportunities

Among our Ozaukee County's projects that would be ideal for private support :

The purchase, infrastructure development and naming rights of 70 acres of unique shoreline and public beach along Lake Michigan know as the Lions Den Gorge. The property is naturally diverse with terrain ranging from wetlands and a deep gorge to wooded highlands and a steep bluff that provides striking views of Lake Michigan.
The restoration effort for our County Courthouse in Port Washington. The initiative germinated from our building's 100-year celebration as our County seat that was held in conjunction with the Fourth of July celebration, 2001. Ornate and elegant stenciling and original furnishings would be restored and the intent is to model similar efforts made in Washington and Brown Counties.  Gifts of the Historic Courthouse

The development of a paved Interurban Trail developed along the former Interurban Railroad Line designed to accommodate bicyclists, walkers, joggers, cross country skiers, and provide safe transportation through the entire length of Ozaukee County from Mequon to the Sheboygan County border. Daily commuters, recreational runners and walkers, and families will use this unique trail as they enjoy the beautiful Ozaukee County natural beauty and terrain.
The opportunity to restore, improve and enhance Pioneer Village, a true Ozaukee County Landmark. This unique attraction celebrates our area's legacy through the experience of pioneer life. The Village needs upgrading and there is a growing need for convenience facilities. The Society is attempting to refurbish the historic Interurban Depot Building in downtown Cedarburg, future home of their archives and research center museum
