Communicable Disease Control

Communicable Diseases Defined
Communicable diseases, sometimes called infectious diseases, are illnesses caused by organisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites which may be spread from one person to another or from animal to person.

The Ozaukee County Public Health Department works to control the spread of infectious diseases. In communication with physicians, hospitals, and labs, we monitor diseases and work to educate the public on disease prevention.
