Role of 4-H Member

AS A MEMBER:

v      Attend the monthly club meeting

v      Attend project meetings as scheduled by project leader

v      Complete your projects Explore:  demonstrating, judging, speaking, exhibiting, making posters

v      Consider serving as an officer, committee member or helper in club events

v      Complete end-of-year record book and apply for awards

v      Bring your parents with you to meetings

v      Meet your club’s achievement requirements

AS A PARENT:

v      Try to attend club meetings with your children

v      Consider serving as an Activity Leader, a Project Leader, or Committee Helper

v      Help children begin their projects early in the year

v      See that your children meet their responsibilities in their projects and club

v      Help complete end-of-year record book

v      Read the “Harbinger” §, the Ozaukee County 4-H newsletter

AS A PROJECT LEADER:

v      Set regular meetings (minimum of 6)

v      Direct members in obtaining the supplies and information for their projects

v      Attend project leader training sessions

v      Plan and teach interesting meetings for youth

v      Encourage members to start and complete projects early, develop record keeping skills

v      Encourage, Support, Encourage. . .

AS A GENERAL LEADER:

v      Guide, encourage, and teach all members in the club

v      Encourage parent involvement

v      Plan yearly program with parent/leader committee and club officers

v      Identify project leaders and co-leaders

v      Supervise meetings

v      Encourage member input

v      Attend county leader meetings and workshops

v      Attend officer training with officers
