Goals and Accomplishments

Alcohol Objectives
Through advocacy and collaborative efforts with the ATOD Prevention Consortium, the Alcohol Action Committee is working to:
  1. Plan compliance checks throughout the County in conjunction with local law enforcement to decrease alcohol sales to minors. 
  2. Distribute "Parents Who Host Lose the Most" Business Letters to local businesses and grocery stores.
  3. Promote TIP 411 throughout the County to parents, students and community members. 
Alcohol Accomplishments (Since 2011)
  • In collaboration with the Consortium, had the Victim Impact Panel changed so all first OWI and OUI offenders in the county are now required to attend the panel.
  • Researched social host ordinances and advocated for municipalities to increase the charge(s) associated with hosting and serving alcohol to those underage.
  • Researched and planned to implement the use of wristbands at county festivals to identifty those age 21+ for legal alcohol consumption.
